Substrate-mediated gene delivery from electrospun nanofibers. Gene vectors can be simply adsorbed on the fibrous surfaces via (A) physisorption, (B) electrostatic interaction, and (C) layer-by-layer deposition techniques. (D) Gene vectors can be specifically immobilized on the chemically modified fibrous surfaces to further enhance the mutual interactions between vectors and fibers.
