Macroscopic observations during AÂ liver and BÂ kidney decellularization. (1) after perfusion with PBS, (2) after perfusion with 1% Triton X-100, (3) after perfusion with 1% SDS. Initially both organs appeared in a brown color. After perfusion with Triton X-100, the liver already looked white, while the kidney was still slightly brownish. After completion of decellularization, both organs were white and translucent with a detectable vascular structure
